UCSC currently has ten colleges with long-term plans for more. Each college contains dorms and/or apartments as well as other amenities such as dining halls (see Campus Dining), cafes, or recreational facilities. In addition, most colleges also offer some of their own courses and freshmen are required to take the "core" class which their college offers.
Colleges 9 & 10 are still unnamed as no one has yet donated the requisite million dollars to have one of them named after themselves.
