They're a great source for fun, angst, friends, and threads about tent university. ucsc tends to be more for material directly related to the university and chatter is a bit more of a, um, free-for-all.
Around spring and on through the summer, many future frosh are gently pushed toward:
This community will answer their questions. Everything may be new under the sun for the frosh, but it's pretty old and tired in the other communities.
