Wetland
West Struve Slough is a posted area behind barbed wire. West Struve Slough begins near Airport Boulevard, then crosses under Highway 1. It joins with Struve Slough. It is between Lee Road and Highway 1. The area is an ecological reserve. You must obtain permission from the California Department of Fish and Game to enter.
History
Named for Hans Christian Struve who came to Santa Cruz County in 1858. He was a farmer and merchant.
Businesses
Not in the major area of the slough. The closest is South Green Valley Road.
Transportation
No public transportation to the area. No bike paths.
