Day in the Park (September)

Former location of the Ben Lomond Dam swimming area.

The park in Ben Lomond is known for the "Day in the Park" fundraiser for the Ben Lomond Fire Department. There are bands, food, and a few vendors.  It is held on a Saturday in September.

Ben Lomond County Park's "Ben Lomond Dam" was known as a popular summer swimming area when a temporary dam is erected across the San Lorenzo River in summer.  The temporary dam was last used in 1986 or 1987. The California Department of Fish & Game has not allowed the dam to be erected because of the possible damage to the natural fish habitats downstream.  This has also ended the temporary swimming areas at Depot Park in Boulder Creek and  Lompico Park.
