This is a handmade, wooden signpost of arrows pointing to places all over the world. It shows the exact directions and mileage for each. It has a metal weather vane on the top. It is located on the west side of Santa Cruz, on the corner of Escalona Dr. and Las Ondas Ct.
I asked the owner of the property what the meaning of the signpost was; if it is just a yard decoration, or some other reason. He told me that his late father, Gordon Jackson, who was a native of Santa Cruz, had traveled to over 50 countries on six continents throughout his life. The signpost was erected as a tribute, or memorial to his father with a few of the places he had visited.
As of 2020, this signpost is not there anymore. The owner took it down because of weathering and rot.
