About:

Krash Labs is a computer club for children in Scarborough. It is based at the YMCA in Scarborough and runs after-school, Saturdays and during the school holidays. It has gone from strength to strength since it opened in summer 2012. Now with 35 computer stations and over 100 children a week coming it has become a focal point for young geeks in the area. Whilst the majority of children play and create in Minecraft we also encourage other games including Garrys Mod, League of Legends and Kerbal Space Program amongst others.

We are also able to help those kids who are interested in learning more about computing and introduce them to programming environments. We are forging links with local businesses and helping find mentors and work placements.

Krash Labs actively encourages kids with Special Educational Needs to use Krash Labs and have had lot of success in providing a safe and encouraging environment. We are recommended by the Council Autism Outreach Team and work with the local Autism support group (FAST), NYCC Inclusion officers and Childrens Centers.

The Sessions:

After-School

Running Tuesday to Friday 4:00-6:00pm. Come and relax after a hard day at school. Only £3 per hour.

The Saturday Sessions

Now open from 9-5 Saturdays at Krash Labs is serious gaming fun. Come for one hour or all day.
Always best to book. It's loud, it's noisy but always good.Only £3 per hour.

Holiday Club

Running from 10-4, our holiday club provides a fun and safe environment for your computer obsessed child to relax,
play some serious Minecraft and meet like-minded friends. Just don't forget your lunch!

Home Education

Every Tuesday from 12-2 during school term time we run a group for Home Educated kids of all ages.
These are informal, relaxed sessions where we encourage creativity and imagination through Minecraft along
with help with programming and server administration for those who need it.

Special Events & Outreach

We have attended the Sci-Fi Scarborough convention and the Totally Locally Scarborough Fayre. We can bring the Krash Labs experience to your event.
We are also working with local schools and organisations such as the Boys Brigade and Eastfield Library. Please contact us if you wish to work with us.
