Valve Corporation is a video game and digital distribution company based in Bellevue. It was founded in 1996 by Gabe Newell and Mike Harrington, Microsoft employees (who were both millionaires at this point) who left their job to form the company. As of 2012, Valve Corporation was worth at least $3 billion dollars with Gabe Newell owning half of the company.

On top of creating successful video games, they are responsible for Steam, a piece of software where you can download games. As of 2011, between 50-70% of all video game downloads are done on Steam.
