580 Hayes Street is currently home to Hayes & Kebab, a Mediterranean restaurant and parking lot, in Hayes Valley. There are plans to demolish the 1-story building housing Hayes & Kebab, as well as the adjacent parking lot, and develop a 5-story mixed-used housing complex. The development may feature 4 floors of residential housing, with 29 units, and a level of underground parking that may empty out on to Ivy Street.
The architect for the project is Mitchell Sternberg of Sternberg Benjamin.
The first planning commission meeting is set for June 26th, 2014.
