Ways you can contribute to the work CRC performs in community -

CRC Computer Recycling Center programs rely on DONATIONS OF COMPUTER EQUIPMENT, FINANCIAL DONATIONS AND FUNDRAISING, AND VOLUNTEER TALENT to work alongside CRC staff "to get these jobs done!".  Your experience in these areas, and/or, your enthusiasm to try your hand at performing any of these valuable services to our programs and your community, are appreciated and welcomed.  Two more areas you can participate -

Volunteers - refurbishing equipment

  • Bring your Tech skills and your Brain to CRC and have fun looking at oodles of equipment of all ages and types; smart phones, not-so-smart-phones, tablets, notebooks, laptops, computers, monitors, printing equipment, network equipment......and so much more.  Your skill and expertise in any one of the many techno products can turn a no-can-use doorstop into a functioning piece of equipment, that can be donated, loaned-out, or sold to support and fund our many programs; REusing technology, getting additional lives from equipment that someone no longer wants, lets get it going and find it a new home!
  • We have the space and the tools and even OTHER volunteers that like to mentor you to know more than you do now.
  • Our student internship programs for college students attending technology programs around the SF Bay Area gives you the opportunity for that real-world hands on experience with a vast differential of equipment, and the problems that can and will show themselves and need repair/resolution.

Volunteers - teaching others:

  •  Like to share your knowledge and see others learning from you?  Our volunteers are a valuable contribution to our communities, assisting in school programs, in public and private group lessons, at expositions and conferences.  You can assist others in discovering the many uses of a computer, from programs and utilities on the computer (writing, drawing, presentations, spreadsheets) to starting email and public accounts to post and list equipment available, to online searches for investigation and resources, like finding free computer and technology equipment that we can use in our programs, to outreach and contacting companies that would like to support our work, perhaps with equipment, or funding, or employees that would like to volunteer!
