The Dogpatch is a neighborhood and historic district in San Francisco, bounded roughly by Potrero Hill to the west, the Bay to the east, 16th Street to the north and Cesar Chavez Street to the south.
The Dogpatch is historically an industrial area, but has recently been gentrifying. The corridor along 22nd Street houses a variety of upscale diners, ice cream stores, cafes and other businesses. There is also a good supply of bars.
There are lots of huge and neat abandoned buildings on the waterfront.
Apparently HuffPo thinks that the Dogpatch is hip.
