Jack Halprin was an attorney at Google and owner of 812 Guerrero Street. In 2014 he became the target of anti-eviction protests when he initiated Ellis Act evictions against the 6 other tenants of 812 Guerrero. Additionally, his tenants filed a lawsuit against Halprin, alleging "that Halprin has been neglecting the building and harassing the remaining tenants, who are slated to be evicted in February."
Here's a profile of him created by the Anti-Eviction Mapping Project.
He died in July 2015 of cancer at age 46.
