Panaderias are Central and South American bakeries, which typically serve pan dulce ("sweet bread"), cookies, and other treats. Pan dulce tends to be not very sweet, and it goes well with a cup of coffee. Each item usually costs a dollar or less.
The typical setup involves a tray and tongs that you, the interested food-eater, use to pick up foods from the various shelves holding them. Kind of like a donut shop inside out.
