Tom's on Cortland was a hair salon in Bernal Heights. In July of 2007, Tom's lease expired and Cid, a stylist there, purchased the business from Tom. Cid's renaming the shop Barberella Hair Lounge and classing the place up a bit.

If you've walked past it, you'd probably have noticed the plants in glass jars in the windows. The salon itself is pretty small, and has several stylists. At around $30, haircuts (no shampoo) were pretty cheap!

I'll be going back as soon as I can! Update: Cid cut my hair and did a great job. I had a bad cut from a few weeks ago and Cid managed to get it all cleaned up. —PhilipNeustrom
