The SFSU VITA program

This program offers FREE tax preparation services to individuals with low incomes (Less than $66,000) who cannot afford the services of paid professional tax preparation as well as to the elderly with limited English proficiency and individuals with disabilities who require assistance in preparing their tax returns.Here you will find campus policies, procedures and guidelines, how to contact us, and links to relevant resources. Monday, February 19th, 9AM- 12PM & 1PM- 5PM

Tuesday, February 20th, 9AM- 12PM & 1PM- 5PM

Technology Required:

Access to the Internet is needed as well as an email account to file taxes. A smartphone is highly recommended to receive text message updates regarding status of tax returns. You will be required to answer questions and upload tax documents. Once they are received, you will be contact by clients who will aid you in the filing process.

Important: 

A.  If Employment related, bring the following documents:

    1. Social Security Number
    2. Passport page showing name, number and photo
    3. U.S. Visa
    4. Form I-94 “Arrival & Departure Record“ (small white card inside your passport)
    5. Form I-20 or DS-2019 (primary purpose)
    6. Employment Authorization Document (work authorization card), if have
   

B.  If Renewal of job on campus or a new or different job, bring new documents necessary to update your file.

C.  If Financial Aid Hold related bring documents requested in the email letter you received. The Foreign National Information Form must be completed prior to meeting the tax specialist along with bringing copies of the above documentation.
