Originally opened in 1956 under the name Old Orchard Shopping Center this mall has continued to shape Skokie since its impetitous. Colloquially known as Old Orchard, the mall has become a go to for many shoppers both from Evanston and Skokie. When Old Orchard was created it drew business away from the stores in downtown and lead to its decrease in popularity.
