The Leonore Smith Building, located at 737 Higuera Street, was designed by John Badgley and built by Maino Construction company in 1957.1

Leonore Smith was a clothing company operated by Leonore Smith Sanson (1914-1971)2 and her father Frank C. Smith.3  The business was in operation until 1992.4

The building featured an all-glass front, "set off by Santa Rosa field stone," described as a trademark of John Badgley's designs.5 The original construction included air conditioning.6
