The SLO Community Permaculture Design Course (PDC) is a jam-packed 72 hours that presents Permaculture, a whole-systems design methodology for resilient communities. The course is taught by a permaculture teaching team that includes Jim Cole, Josh Carmichael, Kathryn Santoyo, Teresa Lees, and Greg Ellis.

Based on the curriculum crafted by Bill Mollison, co-founder of the permaculture concept, the course will crack open paradigms and change world views. A holistic perspective is taught through the lens of many disciplines that sustain us and the environments we live in, such as soil, water, earthworks, agriculture, and architecture. Hands-on activities help participants build practical skills, develop resilient systems for disaster preparedness, and create money-saving strategies by reducing resource use.

The course is taught in 14 Saturday or Sunday sessions from May through September.  The next course is planned for May through September of 2015. The SLO Permaculture Design Course team may also conduct specific permaculture-topic workshops during the September through May time period.
