My perfect day in San Luis Obispo starts early.

My alarm goes off around 5:00 AM. Usually I would be terribly groggy at this hour but this alarm is like the starting line pistol shot.

I jump out of bed, throw on my red onesie, and shuffle out to the kitchen. I start heating up a pot of water for some Mate tea and feverishly whip up banana pancake batter in our large red bowl.

Sipping on the tea, I throw on some Earth Wind and Fire. Now I'm awake.

With all 4 burners cooking pancakes, I start assembling the troops. Every year our army grows bigger. That makes me happy.

I am probably the only person excited in the room as everyone else is too tired to give damn.

It's around 5:30. We need to be scarfing down those pancakes and getting our outfits on. After all, we have a date with the sunrise and we can't be fashionably late.

By 6:20, we're ready to go. We have cameras, a trampoline, a christmas tree, Sammy, Katothe chickens, and the ugliest Christmas sweaters you have ever seen.

And we're off. To Terrace Hill. For the 2012 880 Upham Holiday  Photo Shoot.

We laugh, hug, sing, and stomp. Taking photos of our great family doing what it does best: being super goofy!

This is the story of my perfect day in SLO. I spend it with my favorite people coming together to make memories fit for a fridge.
