History

Inspired by then mayor Ken Brown the Sonoma/Springs Bicycle Festival was founded in 2008 by Chip Roberson, the Sonoma Valley Cyclists and the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition. The purpose of the event to celebrate everything cycling while promoting safe riding, enhancing skills and raising general awareness.

In 2009 the Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance came on board as a co-producer of the festival and lead organizer of the Miles for Mentoring fun ride.

The event is held every fall as the school year begins and is generally held at the Depot Park in the City of Sonoma.
