The Old Capitol Farmers Market is celebrating their 20th year in operation this coming summer season. The market has been in downtown Springfield since 1999. For the summer 2019 season, the market will be open from May 18th to October 26th on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 am to 12:30 pm. The market is located on Adams Street between 3rd and 5th streets; in addition, on Saturdays, a portion of 4th street between Monroe and Washington is also closed down. The missions of the Old Capital Farmers Market include: supporting small farms and local growers, strengthening local economy, building a sense of community, encouraging healthy lifestyles, and celebrating the diversity of locally-grown food.
