On Monday 8/18, large sections of West Florissant Ave were closed under the authorization of Governor Jay Nixon. Earlier in the day, police were keeping protesters from gathering at the QuikTrip, which until then had been considered "ground zero" for protest activities.
Work crews were seen putting up fencing and concrete barriers along intersections.
Police cars were stationed at intersections leading to W Florissant Ave.
