Forestry

• Wood should be cut in the week leading up to the new moon when water is lowest in the plant
• This prevents the wood from rotting later - whatever you build with it will last longer
• You can process it all later

Fishing

• Fish don't bite in a Northeast wind - "Nor'East not fit for man nor beast"
• Shellfish are fuller close to a full moon (especially lobster)
