"Mad Hat is an exclusively tea cafe. Think of the international district in San Fran mixed with a good dose of chic-hippy interior design and voluminous knowledge of the healing properties of botanicals and teas. Their tea menu has literally millions of selections all for about 2-3 bucks for an infuser full of tea (about 2-3 cups worth) Every tea they infuse, they also sell in bulk. (can be found at the Tacoma Food Co-Op as well) They craft all their blends in house and will sometimes custom blend you a tea for specific health or culinary reasons. A great wooden bar to sit at as well as random couches and seats from automobiles to cozy couches to sit in. I go here to think, to read, to write. There is a strict no cell phone and laptop policy. We love Tobin and Maureen the owners and they love Tacoma, actively behind the scenes supporting young artists (and old.)"
