Our Florida State Parks have created a new annual event to help us get active, and make us aware of our local state parks.  This event has been embraced by at least 60 of our state parks and here in Tallahassee by Maclay Gardens.  The hike's are led by a ranger, who answers questions about the habitat you hike through, points out interesting species of plant life, and wild life, and watches to make sure you are safe.  The hike at Maclay followed the trail around Lake Overstreet.  Since Maclay has several trails, some of which hook up with Phipps Park, there will be different venues each year.  The entrance fee is waived for folks taking part, and you can stay as long as you wish.
