The Leon County Library System conducts storytimes for various age groups at the main library downtown as well as at most branch libraries. Programs are free and open to the public. ​No registration is required for individuals - just show up and have fun! Large groups should call ahead to schedule a visit. Age categories are for guideline purposes only - all ages are invited to join any of the programs. Program descriptions, schedules and locations are as follows (check online library calendar for scheduled cancellations due to holidays, etc.).  Each program is a half-hour long:

Babytime is a program for infants birth to 2 ½ years old. Children sit in a caregiver’s lap or close at hand for entertainment consisting of finger plays, rhymes, songs and stories. Main Library: Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m.; Eastside Branch: Tuesdays, 11:30 a.m.; Northeast Branch: Wednesdays, 10: 30 a.m.​

Storytime provides group program stories, songs and activities for ages 2 ½ to school age. Children are exposed to pre-reading skills as they participate in a group activity with caregivers in the room. Main Library: Thursdays, 10:30 a.m.; Eastside Branch​: Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m.; Northeast Branch​: Thursdays, 11:00 a.m.; Fort Braden Branch​: Thursdays, noon (all ages)

Family Storytime offers stories, songs and activities for the entire family to enjoy. Main Library: Saturdays, 11:00 a.m.​; Eastside: Saturdays, ​10:30 a.m.; Woodville: Saturdays, ​11:00 a.m.; Dr. B.L. Perry, Jr. Branch: Fridays, 10:00 a.m.​
