The Tallahassee LIons Club recently celebrated its 82d anniversary in Tallahassee. The Lions Club, also known as Helen Keller's Knights of the Blind has been serving the blind and sight impaired across the world for more than a century. The local club as all Lions clubs are known for their long lasting brooms sold at each of the local Publix supermarkets a few times every year (thanks to Publix for their continued support!) and gained notoriety with the first Texas Hold'em Poker Tournaments for charity, which were held at the FSU University Center featuring lovely lady dealers from a local fashion shop. Our local Chili's resaurants also are perennial supporters of the club. With the assistance of Publix, Chilis and all of our club members and Tallahasseans, thousands have been raised to fund eye exams, surgeries, glasses, for the needy in our community. The proceeds of our fundraising also has assisted the club in purchasing the latest in eye vision testing machines which are now being made available to local institutions for early sight testing for youngsters. The club is always ready to accept new members! |
Then, put whatever you want down here! Note that http://local.google.com is sometimes a good and easy place to find times/phone. Better yet, look them up in the phone book, and ask them. Remove the fields you don't fill out — or even better, look up or call them for the missing information!
