Paddleboarding is the newer water sport craze that is becoming prevalant on our waterways.  We have so many beautiful waterways where you can safely learn the sport, and just enjoy the scenery and the day.  Paddleboadring makes you fell like you're walking on water!  The basic concept is simple.  You paddle into calm, water, get onto your knees, then stand on the board.  The paddling is similar to canoeing with a side-to-side stroke.  Some paddleboards will hold a parent and child, while others are large enough to carry gear, and of course, some are designed for speed and racing.

Paddleboarding is a peaceful yet aerobic sport of stand up, and don't tip over!!  It's easy to master, offers an amazing full-body workout.  The use of the board focuses you on balance, coordination and strengthening core muscle groups.  It also help enhance posture and makes you really aware of the environment around you. It is extremely versatile.  You can paddle slowly, or go on an eco-tour with friends, or a tour company.

You can paddle the gulf and see the sharks, turtles, fish, sea grasses.  Or you can go to our slow-flowing rivers and meander down stream to the Gulf.  And, you can do the Gulf from a beautiful beach, and also paddleboard at a coastal dune lake, such as those as Grayton State Park,   Paddle the saltwater, carry your board across 30 - 50 feet of sand, and you're in fresh water!!! Even paddling on one of the lakes within the Appalachicola Forest, or on Lake Talquin would be enjoyable.  Try one of our many rivers, but only in spots where the current isn't to fast, and there aren't lots of downed trees in the way.

Fun, exciting, enjoyable!!!   Try it!
