The Panhandle Shipwreck Trail is now open and ready for all you SCUBA divers!  The Florida Bureau of Archeological Research, Division of Historical Resources have launched this trail.  It includes twelve shipwrecks off the coast of the panhandle from Pensacola to Port St. Joe.  Each wreck is home to a wide variety of marine life.  Some of the dive sites include the USS Oriskany which has the world's largest artificial reef; the FAMI Tugboats, where they are piggy-backed one on top of the other.  The twelve wrecks are all located in various depths.  The website, www.floridapanhandledivetrail.com  will provide you with all the info needed to plan your trip. Video clips of the different sites are also available.  Brochures of each site are available from the Florida Department of State,  Division of Historical Resources, 500 S.
