Commercial businesses are the lifeblood of Tallahassee so we want your business listed as a resource on TallahasseeWiki.  However, we do ask that you refrain from using only or mostly promotional language. We're really interested in unique angles that go​ beyond traditional marketing, the stories or pieces of information that can inform readers about business in a way that is not currently available on other websites.  We're looking for the neighborly angle on your business.

To enhance the quality of your wiki page, add content about when this business was established, who are the owners, and something interesting about how the business is involved in the community. Don't forget to map the location!

Triangle Wiki is a great interactive site to connect to the community and promote your company in a unique way. A page on TallahasseeWiki can draw new attention and support to any company. TallahasseeWiki is also a great way for loyal proponents of the organization to share their positive comments about your business with the community.

How to get started

1. Does your company already have a page?

   • Search the wiki using the Search bar in the upper right corner of the page - someone may already have created a page for your company. You can update that page instead of creating one from scratch.

   • If no page exists, create one. The best way to do that is to start by finding a page that should link to your page. Go there, find a category page  that describes your company - restaurant, nonprofit, etc. - and add a link to your company. 

   • When creating your company's page, add content about when the business was established, who are the owners, and something interesting about the business that isn't advertised on most commercial web sites. The wiki is a great place to explain policies that customers may not be familiar with. ​ Add pictures.

   • Also, don't forget to map the business location after saving your changes on the page. Don't worry about adding store hours and a phone number, since that information should already be most current on Yelp, Google, business website or other commercial sites.  Just make sure you provide links to those sources!

2. When you save the page, you can click on the link you created to create the page.

   • Templates have already been created for each page created on Triangle Wiki, so new information just has to be added!

3. Although this is not the appropriate place for anyone to critique your business (and we will remove evaluative comments when we see them) keep in mind this wiki is openly edited by the community.

4. Notify organization staff, volunteers, supporters, clients of TallahasseeWiki and encourage them to post comments and contribute to the page.
