We Are Pacesetter

Pacesetter Soccer Club Leagues and Tournaments

Our teams compete in various leagues from the highly competitive Midwest Regional League Premier Division to the local North West Ohio (NWOYSL). Our Black teams typically play in NWOYSL, Ohio North and Michigan. Our Premier Red teams travel a bit further in order to get better competition. As of spring 2013 all our Premier Red teams U13 to U18 will be in the Midwest Regional League. This fall our U10-U12 Red teams have been accepted into the highly respected Michigan Developmental Soccer League competing against some of the best teams in the Midwest Region and Country. Our aim at the club is to find leagues that challenge our players and help Pacesetter develop talented soccer players.

We look for tournaments that will help provide a positive competitive learning experience for all our teams. For our U9 to U14 teams we attend tournaments such as The OP Eagles Tournament, The CASA/Internationals season finale, The Nike Cup and of Course Pacesetter¥s own PSI Tournament. When we get to the High School ages we want to promote our players to College Coaches so we send our High School Teams to some of the Top college Showcase events in the country. This year our teams have been invited to the Raleigh Showcase in NC, The Blue Chip Showcase in Ohio, The Carmel Showcase in IN, The Blast Showcase in Ohio, The Internationals Winter Showcase in Ohio and the Nike Cup in Ohio. These events are rated as some of the top showcase tournaments in the country and provide us with excellent competition and the chance for our players to be seen by all levels of College Coaches.

Is Pacesetter Soccer Club the Right Club For You?

Player development is the heart and soul of the Pacesetter Soccer Club (PSC) program. Starting with our Academy, for the very young, our highly trained, professional coaches teach eager children the sport of soccer and begin the process of player and team development.

As children grow and become better able to participate in more stringent training and competition, our coaches increase the depth and frequency of training and continue the process of player development by teaching the technical and tactical aspects of soccer along with the understanding of team play "for the good of soccer."

By high school, our players, in many cases, have played years of competitive soccer and are well qualified for starting positions on their high school teams. They know and love the sport, they bring to the pitch an excellent work ethic and they are team players.

Following high school, a good number of PSC players go on to play college soccer, some receiving liberal financial aid packages.

For those children interested in soccer and willing to give themselves a push, PSC is the right Club. Like anything worth having, hard work, commitment and excellent training make the difference. Our Club makes that difference.

How do we make the difference?

Professional, well-trained coaches. Our coaches have coached and played a lot of soccer. They know the sport and they know how to train the younger generation. Our coaches are not parent coaches who want to help but do not know the sport and/or have no training in player development. Our coaches know how to bring out the best in each and every player. They teach, they mentor, they foster and they care.

High Level competition. Competition makes the difference. On the playing field, under game conditions, kids see what their age peers are capable of and are motivated to achieve the skills and abilities of their sometimes better competition. When teams play solely agaisnt lesser teams, they may have a great win-loss record, but they are not developing . . .they aren't improving. So, PSC makes sure the leagues their teams play in are competitive for the specific team. Sure, we want to win games, but we also want to challenge our players to be their best. We find the balance by carefully placing each of our teams in the "right" league.

Our Fields. It simply doesn't get any better than Pacesetter Park! Our home fields are extremely well-groomed and always in top shape. Our park is safe, beautiful and perfect for playing and training.

Travel. Our teams travel to seek out the better competition. The distances and frequency of travel depend on the specific team. In the older age groups playing in Premier divisions, the travel may entail a two-hour drive for an occasional game. For younger teams, travel stays in this area. Tournaments are a key component of our program. This is a great time for team bonding and player development. A successful soccer program, to our thinking, can not survive without tournament play and travel. The number of tournaments depends on the age group, level of play required and timing of events. A Premier team may travel to three tournaments a season; a "B" team may travel once or twice. The vast majority of the tournaments are in or near Ohio although the higher levels may require travel to distances a bit further away.

Respect. Our Club is well respected by other Clubs, high school coaches and college coaches. This translates to good things for our players. People in the youth soccer world know our Club, they know we know how to and do train and develop players, they know that our players are committed. This respect gives our players an edge over the competition.

Commitment. The Pacesetter coaches, the PSC Board and its many volunteer parents are absolutely committed to the Mission of PSC. We want our players to be the best they can be. This is our promise and commitment to all of our players.

So, do you want to play soccer to the best of your ability? Are you willing to give yourself a push? Do you want to associate with others who also love this sport and work hard to be their best? If so, Pacesetter Soccer Club is the right place for you. Welcome!
