What's the closest place to Toledo to see the wonders of our night sky without light pollution?

Some suggestions:

  • Maybe out near Swanton or Whitehouse
  • Maumee Bay to the east and straight out Rt 20 to the west
  • Central Ave West through Sylvania, about 15 miles and take a right or left on any numbered road in Fulton county

There are planetariums on the campuses of the University of Toledo and Lourdes University. 

Ritter Planetarium and Brooks Observatory at UT offers public programs each week on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.

Appold Planetarium at Lourdes offers public programs as well.
