We are a grassroots organization of residents in the Oakwood and Vaughan area, Ward 15 (Councillor Howard Moscoe). For several years, we have been working to effect positive change in our neighbourhood and larger community.
One of our major projects has been the revitalization of the greenspace at the corner of Belvedere and Oakwood Avenues. A virtually abandoned space, it is now the home of a community garden and an art project, a spectacular Mosaic Wall.
5 Points Community Action supports the designation of Oakwood Avenue (between Vaughan Rd and Rogers Rd) an Arts District. And, we are also coordinating with City officials to organize an art installation at the TTC Island at the S.E. corner of O&V in the upcoming year.
We have been partnering with various city officials, CPLC, 13 Division, as well as Councillor Moscoe, to address concerns regarding crime in the neighbourhood.
We also support the O&V Business Improvement Association (BIA).
