The Bloor Cinema

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3116/3213669296_2c336d6e9c_m.jpg The venerable Bloor Cinema, is located in the heart of Toronto. “The Bloor”, as it is affectionately known, has 830 seats with three levels: the ground floor with 400 seats, the front balconey with 228 seats and the upper balconey seating 197 people. The screen measures 16′ X 28′ and is hosts not only repertory films, but also many film festivals and special occasions such as the January 2009 inauguration of Barack Obama.

The cinema cannot yet project in high definition, although they can project in most current formats, making it an ideal location for various film festivals.

Built in 1905, the cinema is located on Bloor Street West near the corner of Bathurst Street, around the corner from the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission, the Toronto public transit system) Bathurst Station.
