Future Bakery is a family-run business. It all started with my Polish grandfather and Ukrainian grandmother in Czarist Russia. After the war, they arrived in Canada and opened up a small bakery. They name it Future because they wished to leave behind the past, and were looking to the future in their new country.
Today the bakery is run by my father and myself. We still use my grandparents' recipes for our breads. We make over 40 kinds of bread and buns, including central and eastern European rye bread, Mediterranean wheat and savoury bread, multigrain and Californian sourdoughs, as well as breads for people with allergies, diabetes and other health concerns.
