Housing Opportunities Toronto (HOT)
Housing Opportunities Toronto is based on the principle that affordable housing is a powerful positive contributor to the City's economy, its environmental efforts and to the health of its neighbourhoods and residents.
The document sets out proposed actions by The City of Toronto, the provincial and federal governments as well as the private and non-profit sectors. It calls for new investments of $469 million annually for the next decade.
This is a critical moment in the future of our City and its ability to provide affordable housing. It is important that we hear from the citizens of Toronto.
Toronto is developing a 10-year affordable housing plan and has released Housing Opportunities Toronto 2008-2018 (HOT), a framework to guide public consultations.
HOT contains themes, priorities and proposed actions to assist some 200,000 families and individuals in housing need.
Affordable Housing Public Consultations
The City has begun gathering input on HOT. A series of public consultations has been planned and materials and support are available for those wishing to hold their own consultation meetings.
