New Generation is one of the favourite university student sushi hang outs in the Annex. Perhaps because of it's close proximity to Future Bakery another perennial university student hangout or perhaps it's because it's open the latest out of all the sushi joints on the strip making it the place to go for late night snacks.

In December 2005 there was a fire that caused New Gen to shut down for several months. Shortly after the incident a large piece of fluorescent pink bristol board was taped to the window and loyal customers scrawled their notes of best wishes and swift return. The newly renovated New Gen has a swanky hip new decor.
