The Parkdale Good Food Market was launched on Wednesday August 14 2013.
It will run on Wednesdays in Masaryk-Cowan Park in-between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. for the next five or six weeks as a pilot project.
A "Good Food" market means bringing high quality, affordable fruits and vegetables and healthy produce to neighbourhoods in Toronto where it might not otherwise be available.
"Good Food Market" is a designation given to a market by FoodShare Toronto.
This is the second attempt at bringing a Good Food market to this area of South Parkdale. This one is championed by Niveen Saleh who is a Master Environmental Studies student at York University. She is working with the Toronto Youth Food Policy Council in cooperation with the West End Food Co-op (WEFC) and Greenest City.
