What is SMOG?

  • The word itself was coined Dr. Henry Antoine Des Voeux in his 1905 paper: smoke + fog = smog
  • It is often understood as a form of air pollution produced by the reaction of sunlight with chemicals released into the atmosphere from burning of fossil fuels
  • In reality, smog is: Ground-level ozone, Sulfur dioxide, Nitrogen dioxide Carbon monoxide

Healths Effects

  • It can affect respiratory functions so if you have asthma or any other lung related ailments smog is especially bad for you.
