There are over 200 Challenger Candidates running for Toronto City Council in 44 wards.

Friday, September 10, 2010 - Nominations close at 2 p.m.

Monday September 13, 2010 - Toronto will see the largest single gathering of Unincumbent Candidates before Election Day. Guaranteed among them will be Toronto's Next Councillors.

This act of civic engagement by city-wide un-incumbents, including multiple candidates running in the same open wards, will illustrate what Toronto City Council could look like on the morning of Tuesday October 26, 2010 the day after Election Day.

"TOVotes - Guaranteed Change at City Hall" event allows the greatest access for City-Wide Media to easily meet Candidates running in open wards and incumbent wards from across Toronto, all in one go.

All Media in the City, including Broadcast, Print, Online, Community papers and Multicultural newspapers are being invited. At least one broadcaster may report live from the event during their Noon news hour.

11 a.m. - Doors Open

  • Multimedia slideshow of Toronto Election 2010 will be shown.

11:15 a.m. - Official Welcome and Opening Remarks

  • The #TOVotes hashtag will provide live social media via Twitter.
  • Unveiling of three new Social Media Web 2.0 tools to help unincumbent challenger candidates even the odds in their race against sitting Councillors.

11:30 a.m. - Unincumbent Candidates introduced by Area of the City and Ward.

12:30 p.m. - Unique Class Photo of all un-incumbents holding their campaign signs (Plus a Giant Surprise photo-op). This has never been done before with this many candidates during the entire election. This will be the only such photo & video opportunity before Election Day 2010.

12:45 p.m. - Closing Remarks with remaining time for one on one interviews.
