2007-07-07: The National Post's Dave McGinn interviewed us a while ago, today his article titled "Wiki to the city" appears on both page 13 of their Toronto Magazine and on the PostedToronto city blog.

2007-06-10: We made page 2 of The Annex Gleaner, "One-stop neighbourhood talk"! We hope that The Annex (and other) residents will help fill out our neighbourhood pages!!!

2007-05-25: The Liberty Gleaner community newspaper put us on their front page, "Two municipal idols craft Torontopedia.ca". Welcome to readers from the Liberty Village.

2007-04-30: A big welcome to readers of today's Toronto Star. The Star mentions the BlogTO article about spilling the beans about Torontopedia! We also reached our 500th page milestone today.

2007-02/03 By now, realization that the use of Wikipedia Content licensed under the GFDL sucks as a foundation for a community minded city wiki. All Torontopedia pages created using the GetWiki software as the wiki engine are abandoned. Torontopedia starts fresh. Spend March and early April in pre-soft-launch of Torontopedia! seeding pages, creating templates, and Torontoizing things.

2007-02-06 Somehow stumbled upon DavisWiki and spent the next few days contacting the founders and others who use the Project Sycamore wiki software to power their City Wikis.

2007-01-09 HiMY SYeD attends the first of the Toronto Wiki Tuesdays of the year and asks for help from the local wiki community in getting Torontopedia! launched. For the next month, using GetWiki, Torontopedia! is created and populated with Toronto-specific content taken from Wikipedia.

2006-12-27 While reading The Starfish and the Spider, Karen Sun and HiMY SYeD are inspired. The seed of the idea for a city wiki for Toronto, Ontario is planted.

2006-06-02: Rob Hyndman chats with Mesh volunteer extraordinaire Sacha Chua about ideas for a Toronto wiki then blogs the question, Is it time for a wiki for Toronto?

2006-04-01: Shawn Micallef pens a short piece in The Globe and Mail about Davis Wiki which then gets carried on the spacing wire.
