Victoria Day Long Weekend
The third weekend in May is usually the unofficial kick-off to Summer and the start of Gardening season for many Torontonians.
The Victoria Day Monday holiday is officially supposed to commemorate Queen Victoria, ask any kid though and FIREWORKS!! will be the likely answer as to what the day or the nights rather, are all about.
Fireworks locations during the Victoria Day Long Weekend
- Ashbridge's Bay Park - Monday May 18, 2009 at 9:30 p.m. Free.
- Ontario Place - Sunday May 17 2009 at 9:30 p.m. Included with admission.
- Canada's Wonderland - Sunday May 18 2008 at 10 p.m. Included with park admission.
What's Closed
- Liquor stores, beer stores, government offices and most shopping malls will be closed Victoria Day.
- There will be no mail delivery or pickup.
What's Open
- The Eaton Centre will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday.
- Many stores and restaurants in Bloor-Yorkville will also be open
- Pacific Mall will be open.
- The Royal Ontario Museum
- Ontario Science Centre
- CN Tower
Transit
- The TTC has reduced service Monday, except in the evening on the Bloor-Danforth subway line and on several east-end bus routes to take people to and from the fireworks display at Ashbridge's Bay Park. The Fireworks there begins at 9:30 p.m.
