About Park Place
Park Mall was founded in 1975, Tucson, AZ.
It was later rebranded and renovated in 2000 into the shopping mall that it is known for today, Park Place Mall. It is currently owned by Pacific Retail Capital Partners who bought the property in a foreclosure auction for $87M dollars.
It is one of the remaining two indoor malls in the city, Tucson Mall being the other.
The mall consists of 5,203 parking spaces (shaded and unshaded) and 117 stores, 3 of which are major anchor stores, across the 657,025 sq. ft plot of land. Dillards and Round 1 occupy 2/3 of their anchor stores, while the last one, Macy's, closed their store back in 2020. The Macy's lot is still unoccupied to this day, which makes up 153,511 sq. ft across 3 levels, making this empty lot the largest space within the mall.

Unlike traditional malls that bring in national clothing and accessory brands into the mall, there are more local boutiques than national ones. Of the 117 stores, only 106 of them are occupied. Since the mall has been auctioned off, the mall faced the loss of national brands such as ZGallerie, Typo, McDonalds, Subway, GAP, Swarovski, Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle, Sears, Macys, Express and more, over the course of the years since the global pandemic of COVID-19.
The new transfer of ownership has brought in more local businesses that end their lease typically after one or two years.
The mall suffers minor customer attrition after the major department store Macy's closed down. Since then, other establishments have followed, leaving fewer stores that were targeted for middle aged and young adults. While the absence of national brands is not the only case for declining mall visits, the mall is now primarily made up of entertainment, local boutiques, and clothing stores primarily focused for the teenage demographic.
