In 2011, a City Charter amendment to have non-partisan races passed.  The primary on June 11th, 2013, will be the first non-partisan mayoral election in Tulsa. If a candidate gets over 50% of the votes, even by one vote, that candidate becomes mayor.  Otherwise, the top candidates whose vote percentages add up to over 50% will go to a runoff if there are more than two remaining candidates, or the general election if there are only two remaining candidates.

The top candidates are Dewey Bartlett, Bill Christiansen, and Kathy Taylor,
