Originally built in 1951, the Admiral Twin drive-in theater gained national recognition as a central stage for the original movie The Outsiders.
The classic wooden structure was completely destroyed by fire on September 3, 2010. Strong community support encouraged the owner to rebuild. The new screen is slightly smaller than the original but uses modern steel construction.
The reopening season, the theater opened behind schedule due to construction delays, and then closed for the winter December 2012. The 2013 season opened March 2012.
