Troop 26 is the largest troop in the Indian Nations Council, which is the council for the Boy Scouts in the Tulsa area. Among weekly meetings and monthly campouts, this troop also visits summer camp at Hale Scout Reservation and sometimes goes on long trips to high adventure bases such as Philmont and Northern Tier.

Troop 26 was chartered in 1954 by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  In 1969, Bill Shaffer, became the troop scoutmaster and has served for over 44 years in this position.  Under his leadership, over 675 scouts have earned the Eagle award, which is the high award that a scout can earn.  It is believed that Troop 26 has more Eagle scouts than any other troop in the United States and possibly in the world.  The troop is a boy led-troop and is anchored by strong Eagle scout and adult involvement.
