Peet's Coffee and Tea is a chain from Berkeley, in northern California, started by the eponymous Peet. They sell coffee, tea, blended drinks and the usual scones and cakes that go with it. They have limited indoor seating, but they share a nice shaded area outside with the rest of the plaza. The store typically has some classical music playing which may give it an erudite feel. Their blended drinks are notably stronger than those from other coffee shops, they seem to have an odd method of blending them. When they had first opened, they offered free drinks during the afternoon for all who came as a promotional offer. They also have the customer of the month program, as a part of customer appreciation.
