Wilderness Inquiry (WI) is a non-profit corporation founded in 1978 and with headquarters in Minneapolis. The organization is dedicated to sharing high quality outdoor adventures with people. Their mission is to connect people from all walks of life to the natural world through shared outdoor adventures. They provide canoe, kayak, hiking, horsepack, and safari adventures locally, throughout North America, and around the world.  Each year they host over 300 events serving more than 15,000 people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. WI also has many programs designed to share outdoor adventures with urban youth, families, and people with disabilities.

WI employs 12 full-time staff, 70 part-time staff, and is governed by a volunteer board of directors. They operate in 21 states and 10 countries, and partner with many organizations. Fellow travelers come from all 50 states and many countries around the world.
