Welcome to the LocalWiki for Wapping, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

This project began as a way for its creator to share personal knowledge / research on life here in Wapping, the intention now is to encourage others to contribute and keep the information relevant and up-to-date.

The intention is to compile everything about life in Wapping: shops, pubs, schools, healthcare, local events and so on.

Where appropriate - e.g. the nearest hospital, or the most convenient cinema -  we should include services in neighbouring areas that are within easy reach or considered part of the wider community - e.g. 20 minutes walk / 1 mile from the edge of Wappin  or a brief tube journey from Wapping or Shadwell Overground, or Shadwell DLR.  i.e.: Wapping (including St Katharine's dock) and:
