Second Street (also spelled 2nd Street) runs north-south in three fragments through central Woodland. Second Street becomes Pershing Avenue when it passes north of Beamer Street.

The northernmost segment of 2nd Street runs from Beamer Street to North Street. From north to south, it intersects Charlie Harper Alley (which heads east only from Second Street), Clover Street, and Alan Harper Alley (east only).

The street trees on the northernmost segment of 2nd Street include two invasive weed species: Flowering Pear/Callery Pear (Pyrus calleryana) and Black Locust (Robinia pseudoacacia 'Purple Robe'). However, they also include Modesto Ash/Arizona Ash, which is native to California although not native to Woodland. Other non-native trees on the northernmost segment of 2nd Street include Chinese Hackberry (Celtis sinensis), Chinese Fringe Tree (Chionanthus retusus), Sugi (Cryptomeria japonica), Narrowleaf Ash (Fraxinus angustifolia ssp. oxycarpa 'Raywood'), Goldenrain Tree (Koelreuteria paniculata), Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica), Southern Magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora), Fruitless Mulberry (Morus alba), Chinese Pistache (Pistacia chinensis), London Plane (Platanus × hispanica), Northern Red Oak (Quercus rubra), Idaho Locust (Robinia × ambigua 'Idahoensis'), Japanese Pagoda Tree (Styphnolobium japonicum)and Saw-leaf Zelkova (Zelkova serrata 'Wireless').

The middle segment of 2nd Street runs from Court Street to Dead Cat Alley. It is only about 225 feet long. It runs from a Yolo County Public Administration building to the Woodland Opera House, passing by the Yolo County District Attorney's Office and Dead Cats Barbershop along the way.

The street trees on the middle segment of 2nd Street include the invasive weed species Flowering Pear/Callery Pear (Pyrus calleryana). Other non-native trees on the middle segment of 2nd Street include Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum), Chitalpa (Chitalpa tashkentensis), and Maidenhair Trees (Ginkgo biloba).

The southernmost segment of 2nd Street runs from Main Street to Granada Drive. From north to south, it intersects Dog Gone Alley, Lincoln Avenue, Oak Avenue, Laurel Street (west only), Cross StreetWalden Schmidt Alley (west only), Pendegast Street, Bartlett Avenue, Marshall Avenue, and Hays Street. Along the way, it passes by Tri Counties Bank, Folklorico Latino de Woodland, Simpson University, Yolo Eats, Woodland Skilled Nursing, and Douglass Middle School.

The street trees on the southernmost segment of 2nd Street include four invasive weed species: Purple-leaf Plum/Cherry Plum (Prunus cerasifera), Flowering Pear/Callery Pear (Pyrus calleryana), Black Locust (Robinia pseudoacacia 'Purple Robe'), and Chinese Tallow Tree (Triadica sebifera). However, they also include Modesto Ash/Arizona Ash, which is native to California although not native to Woodland. Other non-native street trees on the southernmost segment of 2nd Street include Trident Maple (Acer buergerianum), Amur Maple (Acer ginnala),  Red Maple (Acer rubrum), Silver Maple (Acer saccharinum), Camphor Laurel (Camphora officinarum), European Hornbeam (Carpinus betulus 'Fastigiata'), Common Hackberry (Celtis occidentalis), Leyland Cypress (Cupressocyparis × leylandii), White Ash (Fraxinus americana), Eastern Black Walnut (Juglans nigra), Goldenrain Tree (Koelreuteria paniculata), Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica), Chinese Pistache (Pistacia chinensis), London Plane (Platanus × hispanica), Carolina Cherry Laurel (Prunus caroliniana), Scarlet Oak (Quercus coccinea), Northern Red Oak (Quercus rubra), Little-leaf Linden (Tilia cordata), and Saw-leaf Zelkova (Zelkova serrata 'Wireless').
