- Big Apple Bagels across Southfield Road from the old Farmer Jack. Closed unexpectedly in 2015
- Big Apple Bagels in Woodhaven Commons where Long John Silver's used to be, now Firehouse Subs
- Big Boy on Southfield Road at Allen Road, now Ram's Horn
- Big Boy on Telegraph Road in Flat Rock. Closed, torn down, and rebuilt into a Dunkin' Donuts, a Lefty's Cheesesteak, and a Verizon store.
- Buckaroo's at Pelham Road and Wick Road. Later became Pizza Hut, Crazy Parrot, Dugout Pub, T-Rex BBQ, now Ramsey's Coney Island.

- Church's Chicken at West Jefferson Avenue and Visger Street, became Domino's Pizza, then Metro Pizza
- Church's Chicken at Eureka Road and Trenton Road where a spiffy BP station is now.
- Church's Chicken at Telegraph Road and Wick Road, became Rally's and is now Subway

- Eighteen '97 Smokehouse on West Jefferson Avenue, was extremely popular with Riverside Hospital staff as it was directly across the street. Entered a decline after Riverside closed.

- Hungarian Kitchen, Fort Street and Oak Street, where generations of the local Hungarian population came from 1960 until it was torn down in 2005 for an Aldi store.

- Kentucky Fried Chicken at Allen Road and McLain Street, moved down the road to the present location at 8020 Allen in 1974.

- Mi Casa on Northline Road one block west of Fort Street, served marvelous Mexican fare to generations of Downriver residents
- Moe's Southwest Grill in Fairlane Green, now Qdoba
- Moe's Southwest Grill on Eureka Road near Dix-Toledo Highway, where Pizza Hut used to be, became Sunrise Diner

- Rally's at West Jefferson Avenue and Outer Drive, Metro Fish & Chicken, torn down for a CVS that never came, leaving the site empty.

- Sbarro at Southland. Originally in the food court, but when that was taken out for Best Buy, it moved in next to Borders, where it stayed until 2014.
- Schlotzsky's Deli on Racho Road, torn down for Culver's
- Sveden House in the shopping plaza on Southfield Road in Downtown Allen Park, moved to below location when Burlington Square opened.
- Sveden House in Burlington Square near Southland, where Perani's Hockey World is now.

- Trovano Pizzeria & Restaurant, a longtime anchor of the corner of Eureka Road and Allen Road, later became Amigo’s Mexican Restaurant (also closed, see above)

- Wendy's in front of the old Farmer Jack on Southfield Road, moved onto the Lincoln Park side of the border in 2014
